Cancellation and refunds
Your 14-day right to cancel, what happens if work has started, and how refunds are made.
Last updated: 19 October 2026
In short: you can cancel within 14 days of accepting our quote without giving a reason. If you asked us to start inside those 14 days, you pay only for the work already done. Refunds are made within 14 days, to the same card or account you paid from.
On this page
1. Your right to cancel
If you agree a job with us at your home or at a distance (by phone, email or message), you have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving any reason. The 14 days start on the day after you accept our quote. This comes from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (regulations 29 and 30).
2. How to cancel
Tell us clearly that you want to cancel, before the 14 days are up. Call 07438 096619, email ignatconstruction@gmail.com, or write to Ignat Construction Ltd, 12 Mount Pleasant Road, Dartford, England, DA1 1TH. You can use the form at the bottom of this page, but you don't have to.
3. If we start within 14 days
We only start inside the 14 days if you ask us to in writing (regulation 36). If you then cancel, you pay for the work done up to the moment you tell us, in proportion to the full price on the quote. Once the job is fully finished at your request, the right to cancel ends.
4. Refunds
When you cancel within the 14 days, we refund what you have paid, less any amount due for work already done at your request (section 3). We refund within 14 days of you telling us, using the same way you paid unless you agree otherwise (regulation 34). There is no fee for this.
5. Urgent repairs
If you specifically call us out to carry out an urgent repair, the 14-day right to cancel does not apply to that repair (regulation 28). It still applies to any other work we agree on the same visit.
6. Cancelling after 14 days
You can still cancel a booked job after the 14 days. Tell us as early as you can. We refund what you have paid, less the cost of work already done and of materials bought for your job that we can't return or use elsewhere. We show you those costs in writing.
7. Online payments
Payments made on our website go through Revolut. Refunds are sent back through Revolut to the same card or account. Depending on your bank, a card refund can take a few working days to appear. If you think you paid the wrong amount, call or email us and we'll correct it.
8. Cancellation form
If you'd like to use a form, copy this into an email or letter:
